CAM6 Aerosol and Microphysics PPE

Abstract:

This data represents a Perturbed Parameter Ensemble (PPE), where multiple aerosol and microphysics parameters are varied simultaneously and the parameter values are determined with Latin Hypercube sampling. Simulations with preindustrial (PI) and present day (PD) aerosol emissions are run for 2 years to analyze the parametric uncertainty associated with the radiative forcing from aerosol cloud interactions (ACI). New MODIS cloud fraction joint histograms are output to efficiently decompose the radiative forcing from ACI into forcing from liquid and ice-phase clouds, as well as into microphysical and macrophysical cloud responses. 162 ensemble members are generated to explore variability in the cloud response to aerosol perturbations.

Citation counts are compiled through information provided by publicly-accessible APIs according to the guidelines developed through the https://makedatacount.org/ project. If journals do not provide citation information to these publicly-accessible services, then this citation information will not be included in GDEX citation counts. Additionally citations that include dataset DOIs are the only types included in these counts, so legacy citations without DOIs, references found in publication acknowledgements, or references to a related publication that describes a dataset will not be included in these counts.
