Metadata fields describe the minimal and optional metadata fields required for a dataset.

Contact information for the asset should be provided using the "Resource Support Contact" field. |
Short Name | This information is used in GDEX URL of the asset. | Yes | This field is assigned by the GDEX curator. |
Version | The version identifier of the the asset. | Yes | Semantic version is recommended. See semver.org for more information. |
Author | The person(s), group(s), or institution(s) receiving credit for the asset. | Yes | A person's name should be provided using the following format: [Full Last Name], [Full First Name] [Middle Initial if desired] This field value is used in the suggested citation provided by GDEX. |
Publisher | The person(s), group(s), or institution(s) receiving credit for the asset. | Yes |
