Title: ICARUS Chamber Experiment: Hildebrandt Ruiz Lab_20180202_DECANE/nitric oxide/nitrite_Chlorine radical_Ammonium sulfate_med RH Description: Goals: Find SOA yield for decane + Cl under high NOx condition (NO and NO2 injected) at RH=40%. Investigate volatility behavior based on 2D thermograms. Summary: Ammonium sulfate seed (0.01M, 150 mL) was injected using an aerosol generation system. Cl2 gas, NO and NO2 gas were injected from their cylinders. 81 ug/m3 of decane was injected into a glass bulb and heated clean air was made to flow over it, carrying the volatilized decane into the chamber. After ~30 mins (sufficient mixing time), lights were turned on for 1 hour. 40.7 ug/m3 of SOA was formed, giving a mass yield of 0.50. This is Exp#8 in associated publication.
