Title: ICARUS Chamber Experiment: Hildebrandt Ruiz Lab_20171116_octane/nitric oxide_Chlorine radical_Ammonium sulfate_dry Description: Goals: Find SOA yield for octane + Cl under high NOx condition (NO injected). Investigate volatility behavior based on 2D thermograms. Summary: Ammonium sulfate seed (0.01M, 150 mL) was injected using an aerosol generation system. Cl2 gas and NO gas were injected from their cylinders. 1 uL of octane was injected into a glass bulb and heated clean air was made to flow over it, carrying the volatilized octane into the chamber. After ~30 mins (sufficient mixing time), lights were turned on for 1 hour (12:27:50-13:27:50). At 13:35, a FIGAERO collection began for 45 mins, followed by a desorption. A second FIGAERO collection began at 3:44 PM.
