Title: ICARUS Chamber Experiment: Hildebrandt Ruiz Lab_20180105_octane/nitrite_Chlorine radical_Ammonium sulfate_dry Description: Goals: Find SOA yield for octane + Cl under high NOx condition (NO2 injected). Investigate volatility behavior based on 2D thermograms. Summary: Ammonium sulfate seed (0.01M, 150 mL) was injected using an aerosol generation system. Cl2 gas and NO2 gas were injected from their cylinders. 1 uL of octane was injected into a glass bulb and heated clean air was made to flow over it, carrying the volatilized octane into the chamber. After ~30 mins (sufficient mixing time), lights were turned on for 1 hour (12:24:09-13:24:17). 11.0 ug/m3 of SOA was formed, giving a mass yield of 0.16. This is Exp#2 in associated publication.
