This file describes the WRF bulk schemes. This uses WRFV3.9.1 for a set of quasi-idealized 3D squall line simulations. Results from 8 simulations are included. The tag at the end of the output file name indicates the bulk microphysics scheme that was used: "thom" --> Thompson "wdm6" --> WDM6 "P3" --> P3 "nssl" --> NSSL (National Severe Storms Laboratory) scheme "r2",...,"r5" indicate bulk runs with different random number seeds to generate small perturbations to the initial perturbation potential temperature fields. These runs all use the P3 microphhysics scheme. Please see the namelist.input for additional details of the model setup. The initial thermodynamic profile for these simulations is included in the file "input_sounding". Please see Xue et al. (2017), MWR for details on how this file was generated.
