This describes the WRF output bin data and reflectivity observational data. Simulations use WRFV3.9.1. See the namelist.input for additional details on the model setup. Three different bin schemes were used: Cal Tech-NCAR-NOAA (CNNB), fast Spectral Bin Scheme (FSBM), and University of Pecs and NCAR Bin scheme (UPNB). The "CLDFRA" field saves all the processed radar reflectivity in dBZ for all wrfout files. wrfout_CNNB_5_6h has three records of outputs at 05:20, 05:40 and 06:00. Please use the last record for consistency with the Xue et al., 2017 paper. 1200_rotated.nc is the cut and rotated Nexrad gridded reflectivity data used in our 2017 paper. The vertical coordinate is included in the file (Height field). The grid spacing is a bit tricky in this file: the original grid spacing is 1 km in the source file "20110520-120000.netcdf". But we did a cut and rotate process which make the effective resolution 1.4 km ish. The script to make this conversion is copied to the directory too. See "new_axis.ncl" for details Please refer to Xue et al. (2017), Monthly Weather Review for additional details.
