Timeseries data at raw temporal output from WRF LES latest update by James Pinto: 9 Feb 2021 Files stored in each tar file contain timeseries in ascii format for select grid points in the San Luis Valley of Colorado during the 14-19 July 2018 LAPSE RATE field experiment. Output in ascii format and is stored at the model domain time step resolution, which is 6 sec for D01 (1 km grid spacing) and 0.667 sec for d02 (111.11 m grid spacing) for 0400 UTC runs. The locations for which timeseries data were stored are as follows: *LAE - grid point closest to Leach Airfield where UAS intercomparisons and many other flights and instrumentation including CU MURC were deployed MOF - grid point closest to Moffat Elementary School where CLAMPS/CU Doppler Lidar and OU UAS were flown. SAG - grid point closest to Saguache Airport where CU Doppler Lidar and UKY and CU UAS were flown. tar files yyyymmddhh.tar include a number of ascii files as described below for each forecast issued at yyyymmddhh where yyyy = year, mm = month, dd = day and hh = hour in UTC. use tar xvf yyyymmddhh.tar to extract individual files. See the README.tslist file for a complete description of the contents of each file. Data files are stored using the following naming convention and have been gzipped: XXX.dNN.??.YYYYMMDDHH.gz where: XXX - is the 3 character point ID (LAE, SAG or MOF) NN - domain ID (01,02 for all runs initialized at 04 utc and 02,03 for all run initialized at 18 utc) ?? - variable ID PH - geopotential hgt, QV - water vapor m.r., TH - potential temperature, TS- timeseries fo sfc vars, UU - u-wind comp., VV - v-wind comp, WW - w-wind comp, *TK - subgrid scale (un resolved) turbulent kinetic energy from WRF-LES grid *EP - Epsilon eddy dissipation (sub-grid scale eddy dissipation rate) from WRF-LES grid *TP - TKE from MYNN PBL scheme (1 km grid) *EL - PBL mixing length from MYNN PBL scheme (1 km grid) YYYYMMDDHH - gives the initialization date and time of the outermost domain in UTC. The innermost LES mesh was always initialized at 10:00 UTC This turns out to be at a lead time of 16 hours for the 18:00 UTC runs and 6 hours for the 04:00 UTC runs. *Note that files with asterisk are only available for the 04 UTC runs.
